End Times Popes - Update - Pope Francis

The new pope has been elected. He is Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio who will take on the name of Pope Francis. So how will this be related to St Malachy's prophecy of Petrus Romanus or Peter the Roman?

The name of Francis is taken after St Francis of Assisi. The full name of St Francis of Assisi is Francesco di Pietro di Bernardone. Pietro is Peter in English.

"Jorge Mario Bergoglio[2] was born in Buenos Aires, one of the five children of Italian immigrants[3][4] Mario José Bergoglio, a railway worker, and his wife Regina María Sívori, a housewife."

There is also an another very old Italian prophecy reads,
"When the White Pope and the Black Pope (Head of the Jesuits or an Anti-Pope) shall die during the same night, then there will dawn upon the Christian nations the Great White Day."

The Jesuits leader is referred to as the "Black Pope", and Bergoglio is from the Jesuit order.

End Times Popes

There is a prophecy by St Malachy which describes 111 or 112 Popes from his time until the end of the current world order. This article is prompted by the resignation of the current Pope - the 111th predicted Pope known as Gloria Olivae or Pope Benedict the XVI.

The following are some other sites talking about the prophecy:
"PETER THE ROMAN - The 112th prophesy states: "In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Petrus Romanus, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End."  The last pope may just cut Catholics loose from unity and the papacy, causing total disruption and confusion."

"The Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy, is a list of 112 short phrases in Latin. They purport to describe each of the Roman Catholic popes (along with a few anti-popes), beginning with Pope Celestine II (elected in 1143) and concluding with current pope Benedict XVI's successor, a pope described in the prophecy as "Peter the Roman", whose pontificate will end in the destruction of the city of Rome."

"This study is an analysis based on private revelation and observations of what is taking place now. It is not to be taken as an official position of the Church. It is good to remind us of the words of the Lord: "stay awake.""

"Now, according to prophecy, the 112th Pope will step up to head the Church, and he will be named Petrus Romanus, or Peter the Roman."
