Pressure on Israel and Natural Disasters

Did world leaders bring natural disasters on themselves?

Did Obama's squeeze on Israel caused the Missouri Tornado and the BP Oil Spill? How about Kevin Rudd and Queensland or George Bush and Hurrican Katrina.

While we may not know God's operations in detail, we can look at the facts which are too coincidental. This article will bring together links to news events for the reader to think about.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is trying to ease concerns that his administration is veering in a pro-Palestinian direction. Speaking to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in Washington this morning, Obama said his endorsement of a future Palestine based on Israel's 1967 boundaries is a public expression of long-standing U.S. policy.

Cause?
Rudd issues peace warning to Middle East
Updated Sun Dec 12, 2010 8:23am AEDT
Mr Rudd is concerned because "no real progress" has been made in the US-brokered peace process.
The construction of new Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank undermines the push for a peace settlement, which would pave the way for an independent Palestinian state and guarantee Israeli's security, he said.
Mr Rudd later met Egyptian foreign minister Ahmed Abul Gheit and said Israeli settlements contribute to "destroying" the chances of peace.

Effect?
2010–2011 Queensland floods
A series of floods hit Australia, beginning in December 2010, primarily in the state of Queensland including its capital city, Brisbane. The floods forced the evacuation of thousands of people from towns and cities.[2] At least seventy towns and over 200,000 people were affected.[2] Damage initially was estimated at around A$1 billion.[3] The estimated reduction in Australia's GDP is about A$30 billion.[1]
Three-quarters of the state of Queensland was declared a disaster zone.[4] Communities along the Fitzroy and Burnett Rivers were particularly hard hit, while the Condamine, Ballone and Mary Rivers recorded substantial flooding. An unexpected flash flood raced through Toowoomba's central business district before devastating communities in the Lockyer Valley. A few days later thousands of houses in Ipswich and Brisbane were inundated as the Brisbane River rose and Wivenhoe Dam used a considerable proportion of its flood mitigation capacity. Volunteers were quick to offer assistance and sympathy was expressed from afar. A large mobilisation of the Australian Defence Force was activated and a relief fund created. The Queensland Reconstruction Authority was formed to co-ordinate the rebuilding program and a Commission of Inquiry established to investigate matters related to the floods.
The 2010–2011 floods killed 35 people in Queensland.[5] As of 26 January, an additional nine people were missing.[6] The state's coal industry was particularly hard hit. The Queensland floods were followed by the 2011 Victorian floods which saw more than fifty communities in western and central Victoria also grapple with significant flooding.

Cause?
Obama withdraws UN support for Israel, 19 April 2010
"The Obama administration is reportedly signaling another major shift in policy towards one of its staunchest allies, Israel, and this shift could change the way it votes at the Security Council. The change would mean an end to the U.S.' use of its veto power in the United Nations Security Council when certain anti-Israel resolutions are introduced for a vote.‪"

BP Oil Spill: Israel's Revenge?

Is oil catastrophe fulfillment of Genesis prophecy?

Effect:
BP Oil Spill, 20 April 2010
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill (also referred to as the BP oil spill, the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, the BP oil disaster, or the Macondo blowout)[4][5][6] is an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico which flowed for three months in 2010. It is the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry.[7][8][9] The spill stemmed from a sea-floor oil gusher that resulted from the April 20, 2010, explosion of Deepwater Horizon, which drilled on the BP-operated Macondo Prospect. The explosion killed 11 men working on the platform and injured 17 others.[10] On July 15, 2010, the leak was stopped by capping the gushing wellhead,[11] after it had released about 4.9 million barrels (780,000 m3) of crude oil.[2] An estimated 53,000 barrels per day (8,400 m³/d) escaped from the well just before it was capped.[9] It is believed that the daily flow rate diminished over time, starting at about 62,000 barrels per day (9,900 m³/d) and decreasing as the reservoir of hydrocarbons feeding the gusher was gradually depleted.[9] On September 19, 2010, the relief well process was successfully completed, and the federal government declared the well "effectively dead".[12]

George W Bush pushes Israel out of Gaza Aug 2005
"The Gaza withdrawal was backed by the U.S. government. Some Middle East analysts and senior Israeli politicians entirely attributed the evacuation plan to pressure coming from the American establishment.

God, Judgment and the Weather: Hurricane Katrina

The most chaotic and traumatic event in Israel's modern history was the forced withdrawal of Israel from Gaza which began on August 17, 2005. Nearly 9,000 Israelis were forcibly ripped from their homes and their farms. It was heart-wrenching to watch women and children man-handled, to watch synagogues violated, Torah scrolls desecrated, houses bulldozed, graves dug up, and farms destroyed. The economic impact on Israel was simply overwhelming. Look at what the Gaza strip produced:
  • 70% of Israel's organic produce
  • 60% on the nations exported herbs
  • 15% of its total agricultural exports
  • 60% of its exported cherry tomato crop
  • 120,000,000 dollars of its flower exports.
In the midst of all of this, before it was even finished, Condoleezza Rice called a press conference in which she said that every one empathizes with what the Israelis were facing, but it could not be Gaza only and that would only be the beginning of the withdrawals. It's interesting that all of that ended on August the 22nd and the very next morning the government of Bermuda announced that a tropical depression had formed off the coast of Bermuda which was dubbed "Katrina." It quickly developed into the most powerful hurricane in modern history, slamming into New Orleans on August the 27th. It disrupted 25% of our crude oil production, it destroyed the largest port in this nation and the fifth largest in the world.

Effect?
Hurricane Katrina Aug 2005

Hurricane Katrina of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season was the costliest natural disaster, as well as one of the five deadliest hurricanes, in the history of the United States.[2] Among recorded Atlantic hurricanes, it was the sixth strongest overall. At least 1,836 people died in the actual hurricane and in the subsequent floods, making it the deadliest U.S. hurricane since the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane; total property damage was estimated at $81 billion (2005 USD),[2] nearly triple the damage wrought by Hurricane Andrew in 1992.[3]

The peace process between Israel and her neighbours is the modern Holy Grail for Western diplomacy. As the leaders make all sorts of concession to secure agreements, it is good to be reminded of what God thinks.

And God said to Abraham as part of the Abrahamic Covenant:
Genesis 12
2. I will make you a great nation;
      I will bless you
      And make your name great;
      And you shall be a blessing.

 3 I will bless those who bless you,
      And I will curse him who curses you;
      And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

God wants us to pray for Jerusalem as David said:
Psalm 122
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
         “May they prosper who love you.
 7 Peace be within your walls,
         Prosperity within your palaces.”
 8 For the sake of my brethren and companions,
         I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God
         I will seek your good.
