Stone Henges and Crop Circles

In an unrelated topic, but also within the same presentation, there was mention of a Confederate General Albert Pike who was also a Freemason and he wrote a poem called "Hymns of God" found here :

The point of this is what does a gentleman from the Confederate South doing, supposed to be in a strong Christian culture, writing hymns to ancient Greek gods?
